The SAGE Encyclopedia of LGBTQ+ Studies

Genny Beemyn served as associate editor of the SAGE Encyclopedia of LGBTQ+ Studies, 2nd Ed., which was published in January 2024. The encyclopedia was edited by Genny’s colleague Abbie E. Goldberg and includes entries by top scholars in a variety of fields, such as psychology, human development, gender/queer studies, sexuality studies, social work, nursing, cultural studies, education, family studies, medicine, public health, and sociology.

In addition to editing 50 entries, Genny contributed their knowledge as the author of seven entries.

In its press release marking the publication of the text, SAGE stated “This encyclopedia looks at LGBTQ issues and identity primarily through the lenses of psychology, human development, and sociology, while emphasizing queer, feminist, and ecological perspectives on this topic.”
